Home Burglaries Hit Areas Of Mount Pleasant

VALHALLA, N.Y. – Multiple home break-ins occurred over the past week in Mount Pleasant, with jewelry being the main item stolen, according to Mount Pleasant Police Chief Louis Alagno.  The string of burglaries have all occurred around or before noon over the course of the past four days, Alagno said.

On Aug. 6, a resident on Hilltop Lane in Thornwood reported that someone entered her home and stole 12 gold bracelets from the resident’s master bedroom.  At a home on Sherman Avenue in Hawthorne, a resident reported that around $10,000 in jewelry was stolen from their home around noon on Aug. 8.  On Aug. 9, a resident on Bainbridge Avenue in Thornwood reported that four pieces of jewelry was stolen from their home.

On Aug. 7, Alagno said that a burglary alarm was set off at a home on Greenwood Lane in Valhalla. Nothing was reported stolen and police said the burglar attempted to enter the home through a first floor window.

The incidents are all still under investigation and it has not been determined if they are connected.
