Macy's Employee Fraudulently Returned Merchandise, Yorktown Police Say

A 20-year-old Northern Westchester resident was arrested and charged for processing fake returns when she worked at Macy's in Jefferson Valley Friday.

Cyan Rampersant of Peekskill was charged with petit larceny, a Class A misdemeanor. While working at Macy's, Rampersant allegedly took merchandise in the store and returned the merchandise to her register numerous times for a total value of $460.14, police said.

Rampersant then took the value of the merchandise and placed it on two Easy Exchange gift cards, police said.

She was released on $100 bail and is due back in court on Jan. 23.
