Mount Pleasant Police Investigate Armed Robbery Of Hawthorne Shell Station

HAWTHORNE, N.Y. - Mount Pleasant police have launched an extensive investigation into a man that reportedly robbed a gas station in Hawthorne with a weapon.

Officials confirmed that they are seeking a man that threatened an employee at the Shell gas station on Bradhurst Avenue with a knife, demanding cash.

According to police, the suspect was handed an undisclosed amount of money from the cash register and took off on foot. Responding officers conducted a canvas of the area with negative results.

A knife was displayed during the hold-up, police said. No injuries were reported.

The suspect has been described as a white male in his 20s or 30s, sporting a gray jacket, jeans, tan boots and a sweatshirt. The investigation into the robbery is ongoing. Anyone with information can contact police at (914) 769-1941.
