Mount Pleasant Police Make Arrest At Graduation Fight

VALHALLA, N.Y. – An altercation broke out between two parents attending the Ossining Middle School moving-up ceremony Wednesday, June 20, at Pace University in Pleasantville, leading Mount Pleasant Police to make an arrest.

A 50-year-old Ossining man was arrested and charged with second-degree harassment, a violation, after police say the man kicked another individual at the graduation.

In other police news:

• A woman attempted to steal baby formula from the CVS in the Thornwood Town Center on Friday, June 22, Mount Pleasant police said. CVS employees reported that at about 9 p.m. a white female, with long blond hair and in her early 20s, was seen attempting to leave the store with $135 worth of baby formula without paying, police said. The woman dropped the formula and fled after workers attempted to stop her, police said. No arrest has been made, and the investigation continued.

• A 43-year-old female counselor at the Hawthorne Cedar Knolls School in Hawthorne told police that a 16-year-old student punched her in the face, police said. The alleged assault took place at about 6 p.m. June 18 at the school, police said. An investigation was continuing, and no arrest has been made.
