MOUNT PLEASANT, N.Y. -- A Mount Pleasant police officer was involved in a vehicle crash Tuesday around 2 p.m. at 861 Bedford Road, according to Mount Pleasant police.
The accident occurred when a Mount Pleasant officer, responding to a call on Route 117 with lights and sirens, hit another vehicle that crossed his path near Pace University, said Lt. Robert Millambro.
Both the officer and the driver of the other vehicle received minor injuries and were transported to Westchester Medical Center. The officer has since been released, he added.
Following the crash, the westbound lane was closed while emergency vehicles were on the scene.
The cause of the accident is currently under investigation.
