Mount Pleasant Police: Vulgar Letter Makes Rounds

VALHALLA, N.Y. – The Mount Pleasant Police Department reported Monday that a number of female residents in town have received a sexually explicit letter in the mail from an unidentified sender. Police Chief Louis Alagno said that about a dozen women of various ages reported receiving the letter in the past week, mostly in the Valhalla area.

“The letter is very explicit, offensive and harassing” Alagno said. “It seems that it is the same letter and just addressed to different people.”

Alagno said an investigation is under way. He added that anyone responsible for the letter could be charged with aggravated harassment, a misdemeanor. Police encourage anyone who receives the letter to report it immediately to the Mount Pleasant Police Department by calling 914-769-1941.

The following items also were reported by Mount Pleasant police:

Underage Drinking: On Thursday, July 12, around 8:30 p.m., Mount Pleasant police responded to an underage drinking party on Beech Hill Road in Pleasantville, where about 50 teenagers were present. Police said a 16-year-old Pleasantville resident was taken to Phelps Memorial Hospital Center because of her intoxication. Police said no parents were home at the party and the investigation continues.

Suspended License: After a traffic stop about 11:30 a.m. Friday, July 13, Mount Pleasant police charged Christopher Caetano, 18, of Sleepy Hollow with driving with a suspended license, a misdemeanor.

Stolen Cash: An Armonk woman reported that money was stolen from her wallet at the Shop Rite in the Thornwood Town Center on Monday, July 9. Police said the woman left the wallet in her shopping cart and left the parking lot. Upon returning to the shopping center, the woman found her wallet, but $300 cash was missing from inside.
