North Castle, Bedford Police Officers Search For Suicidal Man

North Castle Police offered an assist to officers in Bedford in an effort to track down an allegedly suicidal man who had just lost his job.

The North Castle Police Department received a call from a sergeant working for the Bedford Police Department at approximately 5:20 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 14, reporting that they were attempting to locate a suicidal man who had threatened to hang himself after being terminated by the New York Police Department.

Police pinged the man’s cell phone to the area of Armonk Tennis and searched for his brown Honda Civic without success. Officers proceeded to canvas the area without success. No injuries were ultimately reported related to the incident.

Other items on the North Castle Police Department blotter from Friday, Jan. 12 through Thursday, Jan. 18 include:

  • Police and paramedics were dispatched to a Whippoor Road residence on Jan. 12, where there were reports of a 77-year-old man who had fallen and possibly been on the floor for 24 hours. Paramedics were able to track the man down and he was transported to Northern Westchester Hospital for treatment.
  • Detectives are investigating reports of stolen mail and packages from a Cross Road residence on Monday, Jan. 15. A second, similar instance was reported on Pine Ridge Road the following day.
