Pair Caught With Over 100 Pieces Of Stolen Mail In Tarrytown

Police nabbed two men who had stolen or "fished" more than 100 pieces of stolen mail out of a USPS box in Westchester.

The men, Jade Williams, 19, and Sean Michael Dash, 21, both of the Bronx, were arrested around 2:50 a.m. Friday after police observed the two engaging in suspicious activity in of the USPS mailbox, said Tarrytown Police Lt. Greg Budnar. 

As the men were attempting to leave the area, officers conducted a traffic stop and during a search, found the more than 100 pieces of stolen mail, Budnar said.

Police would not comment if the men were in possession of "fishing" devices. 

Both were charged with grand larceny and unlawful possession of a personal ID. 

The men were arraigned in Tarrytown Justice Court and are being held at the Westchester County Jail. They are scheduled to appear in court on May 23.
