On Monday, April 24, police in North Castle received a report of a potentially fraudulent phone call, where the complainant stated to officers that he was told his mother was involved in an accident with drug dealers and will not be released until he pays a ransom.

Police were dispatched to the North Broadway home for a welfare check, though nobody was home immediately. According to police, a subsequent check during the following tour found that the man’s mother was safe and sound. The investigation into the alleged phone call is ongoing.

Other items on the North Castle Police Department blotter from Friday, April 21 through Thursday, April 27 include:

  • At approximately 4:25 a.m. on Sunday, April 23, police received a report of a suspicious vehicle parked close to the guard rail in the shoulder of Business Park Drive in Armonk with no occupants. Police responded to the reported location, but the vehicle - described as a dark compact car, possibly a Honda - was gone upon arrival. Police canvassed the area, but could not locate the vehicle.
  • The following day, police received reports of a suspicious male on Rock Cliff Place who appeared to be looking into parked vehicles in the area. The man was described only as a male wearing tan clothing. Contact information was provided to police, and a subsequent check of the area did not reveal the suspect.
  • On Tuesday, April 25, police received an emergency 911 call with no caller on the line. While attempting to call back, a second emergency call came in from the same number, with a female stating that someone was assaulting her husband on Bedford Road in Armonk. According to police, the caller said that a male party had backed into her residence, prompting the dispute with her husband. Police were dispatched to the area to help diffuse the situation.
