Police were conducting larceny patrol on East Parkway at approximately 2:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 8 during the late train arrival times when officers spotted three black males exiting the train station, walking toward the Central Taxi stand.

According to police, after speaking with an employee of the taxi stand, the three men “began walking aimlessly” toward Spencer Place. Patrol proceeded to make contact with the three men to see if they needed assistance or directions, and the suspects subsequently gave conflicting stories about their whereabouts and became evasive about answering questions.

The suspicious behavior prompted patrol to call for additional units at the scene and the men were detained because they had no "legitimate destination or reason to be in the area." According to police, none of the men had wallets or personal identification on them and between them, they had $5.45, and none of them possessed a return ticket to Mount Vernon.

A subsequent warrant check by police revealed that 17-year-old Tyrese Clarke had two outstanding warrants in White Plains for criminal trespassing and bail jumping, which led to his arrest in Scarsdale. Clarke was placed under arrest and was taken into custody by White Plains police at approximately 4:15 a.m.

After being taken into custody, Clarke’s was transported to White Plains Police Headquarters for processing. The other two were released into the custody of their parents.
