Scott V. McMahon, 27, of Yonkers, died in the crash around 7 p.m. April 28 near Exit 8 in the town of New Castle, said Trooper AJ Hicks.

"Numerous witnesses have described a blue car that appeared to be racing the motorcycle; however, none of the information gathered so far has led to the identification of the vehicle," he said.

The investigation suggests a 2006 Mercury sedan was southbound when it was struck on the rear driver’s side by McMahon's 2017 Aprilia motorcycle. The motorcycle then struck the concrete center median, and McMahon was ejected.

A doctor who was also traveling on the parkway stopped and administered emergency care until EMS arrived. McMahon was then transported to Westchester Medical Center where he later died.

Investigators urge any witnesses that may have information regarding the crash to please contact the Bureau of Criminal Investigation at SP Hawthorne by calling (914) 769-2600. Please ask for Investigator Hoeverman, reference case SJS# 8209146.
