The spokesman, Kieran O'Leary, said that the suspect went into Wilson & Son Jewelers, a store at 29 S. Moger Ave., at around 2:50 p.m. on Thursday. The man posed as a customer and requested to see watches, O'Leary said, and subsequently snatched the items.

O'Leary called the stolen items "high-end watches," although their makes and price tags were not immediately available.

The suspect fled the store without any use or threat of violence, O'Leary said. He then got into a Lincoln Navigator across the street, which served as a getaway vehicle. The Navigator was seen heading south, O'Leary said, although a county police officer spotted a vehicle matching the description on Route 133 by Manchester Driver.

The officer pulled over the vehicle and the suspect, who was its passenger, fled. The driver was taken into custody, O'Leary added.

Police are currently searching areas around the Saw Mill River Parkway, O'Leary said.

The suspect is described as a white male who is about five feet and 11 inches to six feet tall. His hair is either light brown to dirty blond, and he was spotted wearing a striped t-shirt and stone-washed jeans.

Wilson & Son, which has been in Mount Kisco for several years, is slated to close in the near future and is selling off its remaining inventory.
