The building maintenance manager at the school reported to police shortly before 6:45 p.m.on Tuesday, July 10 that he saw a suspect, described as a 5-foot-1 Hispanic man with black hair and a medium build, peering into a pair of parked cars in the parking lot of the Hoff-Barthelson Music School in Scarsdale.

The suspect was reportedly wearing a light colored shirt, khaki pants and work boots when he was approached by the maintenance manager. When approached, police say that the man went on his phone, beginning to walk fast towards School Lane. A grey vehicle - possibly a Cadillac with “fancy rims” - then picked him up and took off.

Police said that the manager was unable to get a license plate number. A canvas of the area did not turn up the vehicle or suspect. The incident is under investigation as officers are attempting to ascertain surveillance video from the area. Check Daily Voice for updates.
