The crash took place Friday afternoon on Washington Road, off of Route 6, according to officials.

Carmel Police were first on the scene and found an occupied vehicle down the embankment. Officers stretched a rope securing it to the police cruiser and preventing the vehicle from sliding any further.

The Mahopac Falls Dive Team was told to "stand down" and to stand by as firefighters, under the command of Asst. Chief Andy Roberto, made a forcible entry to get to the victims, officials said.

All of the occupants received minor injuries and were treated by EMTs and paramedics.

Units responding included Mahopac Fire, EMS, Rescue, Fire Police, Mahopac Falls Dive Team and EMS Support, and EMStar Paramedics.

The crash is under investigation.
