VALHALLA, N.Y. -- A Westchester County Jail officer found himself suspended without pay on Monday for allegedly using social media to post racial images and messages, according to lohud.com.

The officer, who was not named under the state's privacy laws covering law enforcement, was suspended just two hours after the allegations were brought to light, said lohud.com.

The action came after lohud.com obtained screen shots of posts from the Instagram page of "Redneck Woodchuck," reported lohud.com.

One of the images shows a photo of the 23-year-old Milwaukee man who was shot by police on Aug. 13 after pulling a gun, with the caption "Second Place. Milwaukee, WI Quick Draw Competition," said lohud.com.

The suspension is the latest of three similar incidents in recent months were law enforcement and first responders made questionable comments on social media, added lohud.com.

A New Rochelle police officer was suspended recently after making what the department said was an inappropriate post on social media that was critical of the Black Lives Matter movement . And earlier this month, a Mount Vernon police officer is also under investigation for posting an offensive mention about Black Lives Matter.

In August, a veteran Mount Vernon firefighter was suspended for allegedly using his Instagram account to call for the deaths of police officers in the wake of the cop-killing tragedy in Dallas.
