Jeevan P. Abraham, 29, was arrested by New York State Poice on Wednesday, Dec. 6, following an investigation which found that he threatened a victim whose gender was not released because of the person's sexual orientation, said Trooper AJ Hicks.

Hicks declined to describe the circumstances leading up to the arrest.

Abraham was charged with aggravated harassment as a hate crime and was issued an appearance ticket returnable to the town of Southeast Court, Hicks said.

An order of protection from the court has been requested for the victim, he added.
