Teen Caught With Clonazepam At High School, Yorktown Police Say

YORKTOWN, N.Y. -- A 16-year-old boy was arrested and charged after he was spotted possessing five clonazepam pills at Yorktown High School on Tuesday, Yorktown Police said.

The teen, a Yorktown resident, was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, a Class A misdemeanor, after the school resource officer investigated a drug complaint.

Clonazepam, a sedative, is used to treat seizures, panic disorder, and anxiety.

The teen was arrested at the scene and transported to headquarters. He was released on his own recognizance and is due back in court on Nov. 30.
