At approximately 7:30 p.m. on Sunday night, a woman made a 911 emergency call to police from a restaurant across the street from the station, reporting that two teenage girls had just mugged her, stealing her purse and cell phone, officials said.

Members of the Mount Pleasant Police Department and MTA Police Department were dispatched to the scene, and after canvassing the area, a 15 and 18-year-old, who are reported runaways from the Hawthorne Cedar Knolls RTC, were brought into custody. The woman who was attacked sustained no injuries.

Both suspects were charged with second-degree robbery and assault. The 15-year-old was issued an appearance ticket for family court and the 18-year-old is currently awaiting arraignment.
