The man's name is not being released because he is recuperating from serious injuries at Westchester County Medical Center, an MTA spokesman said. The man was hit by the train at 4:25 p.m. Friday, causing commuter train delays in both directions.

He was conscious when he was transported to Westchester County Medical Center, the MTA said. He was admitted to the medical center in Valhalla with chest and leg injuries.

In a separate incident on Friday, a 27-year-old man was found dead along the Metro-North railroad tracks just south of the Rye train station at 7:23 a.m.

The dead man was identified as William Joseph of Far Rockaway in Queens on Saturday, the Westchester County Medical Examiner told lohud.com.

His body was spotted by a southbound Metro-North crew near Locust Avenue in Rye.

The county M.E. told LoHud that Joseph was dead before the crew spotted him. Exactly how he died has not been determined, but he suffered multiple bodily injuries including fractures, cuts of internal organs and hemorrhaging, the medical examiner told LoHud.
