Tree Crashes Through Westchester Home For Sale

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. - A vacant home for sale in Scarsdale got a little more difficult to sell after a tree went through the roof.

Police were dispatched to Gorham Court at approximately 10:45 a.m. on Friday, following reports of a large tree that had fallen onto the residence, cutting through the roof and resting between the first and second floors.

Members of the Scarsdale Fire, Police, Water and Building Departments, as well as crews from Con Edison were all dispatched to the scene. After police taped off the area, firefighters made their way into the home to ensure that there were no injuries It was ultimately determined that the property is vacant and listed by a local realtor - who was notified of the incident.

Gas, water and electric were shut off by crews at the scene. The homeowners attempting to sell the home returned to the residence and the scene was cleared. Repairs are being made to the home after it destroyed a section in the rear of the property.
