White Plains Man Killed In I-287 Crash

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. - State Police are investigating a fatal motorcycle crash that took the life of a 52-year-old White Plains resident on Monday night.

State Police said Tuesday morning that Josaias S. Fernandez was operating his motorcycle on I-287 in White Plains when he lost control of the vehicle, resulting in a fatal crash.

According to police, shortly after 7 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 6, investigators determined that Fernandes was operating his 2009 Suzuki motorcycle eastbound on the entrance ramp near exit 7 (Central Westchester Parkway north – Valhalla), when he failed to negotiate a curve, lost control and was run off the road.

Police said that Fernandes was transported to White Plains Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. During the investigation, the accident was reconstructed by the New York State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit.
