MONTEBELLO, N.Y. -- Faith Leigh, 83, is dead after being hit by a car in Rockland County Monday, according to multiple reports.
The senior citizen was killed was trying to cross Route 202 near Mayer Drive in Montebello when she was struck by a Hyundai sedan that had been traveling westbound, News 12 reports. Family members say she had just come home from a luncheon and was checking her mailbox, the report said.
Leigh suffered multiple fractures and was in critical condition when she arrived at Westchester Medical Center and later died there.
The driver, a 21-year-old Monroe woman, stayed at the scene and so far no charges have been filed against her.
