Yonkers Motorcylist Killed In Crash On I-87 In Orange County

TUXEDO, N.Y. -- A 37-year-old Yonkers motorcyclist was killed Tuesday after crashing into two cars on I-87 in Tuxedo.

The motorcyclist, Jason Vanterpool, struck the rear of a 2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer, continued northbound then striking the rear of a 2016 Subaru, and was then ejected from his motorcycle, state police said. He sustained leg and head injuries and was airlifted to Westchester Medical Center, where he died.

The driver of the Chevrolet Trailblazer, Ada L. Wright, 68 of Bennington, VT was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital to be evaluated.

The driver of the Subaru, Brandon Santiago, 17 of Warwick, NY was uninjured.

Witnesses said Vanterpool was speeding and weaving in and out of traffic, according to a report on News 12 Westchester.

The accident is still under investigation.
