Carter Costello will run for the Democratic nomination and other ballot lines in this fall's primary.
"As a life long resident of this district, I am excited about the opportunity to represent my neighbors in Albany and work to improve the lives of all the people in our diverse towns and villages,” Carter Costello said in a statement.
She has received endorsements from Assemblywoman Sandy Galef, Cortlandt Town Supervisor Linda Puglisi, Cortland Town Councilman Rich Becker and other local officials.
