McCarthy, Rogers Smalley Win GOP Nod For Mount Pleasant Council

MOUNT PLEASANT, N.Y. - Denis McCarthy and Laurie D. Rogers-Smalley appear to have won the Republican nod to run for two open Mount Pleasant Town Council seats.

McCarthy,  Rogers-Smalley and Judy Ann Melagrano are competing to be on the Nov. 5 general election ballot for two available seats on the Town Board.

With 88 percent of the vote in as of 6:30 a.m., the votes were as follows:

McCarthy, 605 votes, 46 percent

Smalley, 518 votes, 39 percent

Melagrano, 197 votes, 15 percent.
