Green, who began boxing three years ago, will head to Nevada for the Boxing World Championships that begin with preliminary bouts Dec. 6-11.

The 26-year-old heavyweight wants to be considered "one of the most talented and best female fighters on the planet."

She won't be able to prove it at the 2016 Olympic -- there's no medal for her 178-plus-pound weight category -- so her focus is on the Boxing World Championships.

"Boxing was always in me," she told Daily Voice. "I did it in high school to get my footwork right, but in college they made me stop.

"I love boxing. Boxing will get you in shape like no other sport can. I don't think any other sport can get that mental toughness in me."

Green excelledin in basketball as a teen. She was nominated as a McDonald's All-American and led Eastside to its sixth-straight Passaic County Tournament title.

She then attended Old Dominion University on a full scholarship.

Green has studied fighters such as Floyd Mayweather and met Oscar De La Hoya to talk about the sport.

She defeated her first six opponents with Team USA and is a Diamond Gloves champion, a two-time Golden Gloves champion and a Silk City champion.

Winning a world title would mean -- well, the world, Green said.

"It's all I dream about every single day," she said. "Ever since I knew about the World Championships, [I knew] that's my time to showcase my talent and show the world that the USA has good boxers."
