Roderick Fletcher Berg, 74, Of Ridgewood

RIDGEWOOD, N.J. -- Roderick Fletcher Berg died Aug 3. He was 74. 

He was born Feb 26, 1942, at West Pointon. 

He studied piano for one year at the Julliard School of Music before attending the University of Maine, where he graduated in 1964 with a degree in electrical engineering. Throughout his professional career, he was a computer programmer and system manager, working for Western Union, ITT, and Sony. He enjoyed choral singing and sang with a number of choruses in the area, including Pro Arte Chorale. He also rang hand bells in several hand bell choirs. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Joyce Farmer Berg, his son Andrew of Bend, OR, 3 granddaughters Lucie, Kate, and Maggie, and nieces and nephews. A Memorial service will be held at West Side Presbyterian Church, 6 South Monroe St, Ridgewood on Monday, Aug 8 at 7 pm.
