18-Year-Old Shot In Montclair: PD

An 18-year-old Bloomfield resident is in stable condition after he was shot in Montclair on Monday, April 1, authorities said.

At 9:56 p.m., officers responded to Maple Avenue and Woodland Avenue on a report of shots fired, Montclair Police said. Police observed two men running into a vehicle parked on Woodland Avenue, officers said.

After stopping the vehicle, police spotted the 18-year-old in the passenger seat with a gunshot wound to the abdomen, officers said. Two other men in the vehicle were not injured, police said.

The 18-year-old was treated on scene by Montclair EMS and was transported to a nearby hospital where he is in stable condition, police said. Several bullets were located and recovered from the scene, police said.
