The award was given to Kenney based on his commendable contributions in the classroom and school community, his excellent practices and his formidable professional strengths.
“I am very grateful to NYSEC for this recognition and to my colleagues in the English department for nominating me,” Kenney said. “I feel very lucky to work in a district that values education so highly and encourages excellence in the classroom on a daily basis. I am fortunate to have the support and example of such talented, professional and collaborative fellow teachers and administrators who inspire our students in the classroom every day.”
Kenney formally will be recognized Friday, Oct. 16 at the 65th annual New York State English Council Conference Awards Luncheon.
“Congratulations to Dr. Kenney on being recognized for 24 years of successful teaching,” said Briarcliff High School English Department Coordinator Jamie Mandel.
