In early December, the author stopped by Kensico to discuss his writing inspirations and procedures with the students. Earlier in the year, they had read his "Lunch Lady" comic series, and were thrilled to ask him questions about how long it took to write his books, how he began writing and how he gets his ideas. The idea for Krosoczka's first "Lunch Lady" book was born in 2001, and it took eight years for it to be published and in his hands, in 2009. He also encouraged students to begin writing, drawing and thinking about ideas at an early age. "I was able to do all this because I love stories," he said. "I love writing stories, I love reading stories, I love drawing characters."
