“I’m blown away by how many people showed up,” said Matt Curran, principal of Kensico School. “This is a really great turnout. It shows how special our families are in the community.

For the first ever Dads Take Your Child to School Day on Sept. 22, Valhalla's Virginia Road School and Kensico School hosted 40-minute events where families ate breakfast and read father-themed booked together.

Curran and Virginia Road Principal Ada Jimenez-Parker anticipate hosting similar events in the future due to the successful turnout. The events were to emphasize the role strong family relationships have on the academic, behavioral and cognitive development of children.
