Final Informational Forum On Mount Pleasant School's $55.8M Bond

MOUNT PLEASANT, N.Y. -- The last forum on Mount Pleasant Central School District’s proposed $55.8 million bond to upgrade its facilities will be Wednesday, Oct. 22.

The final information session on the bond referendum is at 7 p.m. in the Westlake High School Library, 825 Westlake Dr. in Thornwood.

The bond will cost the average house assessed at $8,300 an additional $540 per year, and update the facility which hasn’t seen improvements since the 60s and 70s.

The bond includes the reconstruction of the auditorium, increase parking, a new track surface, artificial turn fields, a science lab and learning commons, a campus health suite, upgrade to the HVAC system and more.

The vote will take place on Saturday, Nov. 15 from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. in the Westlake High School Gym.
