VALHALLA, N.Y. -- After 23 years of service to the Valhalla Union Free School District, longtime Principal Ada Jimenez-Parker has decided to retire at the end of June.

"I know this was a difficult decision for her," said Valhalla Superintendent Brenda Myers. "She loves Virginia Road and she has worked endlessly to make our K-2 program a shining star among public schools in Westchester County. We wish her much happiness and a well-deserved retirement."

Myers stressed that the principal's position is a very important role in the district and that the administration will conduct a comprehensive search for the right leader during the winter and spring.

In January, the district will begin a search process and will ask for volunteers from the school and community to participate in focus groups and interviews.
