Mount Pleasant Passes School Budget, Elects Pinchiaroli, Fowler

MOUNT PLEASANT, N.Y. -- Incumbent Christopher Pinchiaroli and Theresa Fowler were elected to the Mount Pleasant Board of Education on Tuesday.

Mount Pleasant voters also passed a proposed $52.5 million budget that maintains services while staying within the tax cap. It would raise the tax rate by an estimated 2.68 percent.

The budget received 539 'yes' votes and 271 'no' votes.

Pinchiaroli received 613 votes. Fowler received 559 votes.

Pinchiaroli and Fowler will serve three-year terms.

Pinchiaroli, a current member of the Mount Pleasant Board of Education, has lived in Valhalla for 15 years with his wife. Pinchiaroli has four children in the district. He works as a lawyer.

Fowler has been a Hawthorne resident for the past 48 years. Her husband is a retired Mount Pleasant police officer, and her two daughters graduated from Mount Pleasant schools.
