Mount Pleasant Schools Closed Wednesday

MOUNT PLEASANT, N.Y. - The Mount Pleasant Central School District canceled classes for Wednesday due to transportation difficulties caused by downed trees, wires and other hazards around town following Hurricane Sandy.

District officials have not yet determined whether schools will re-open on Thursday.

More than 6,000 of the 8,000 ConEd customers in the town of Mount Pleasant were still without power Tuesday afternoon.
