Pleasantville Honors 63 Students At Youth Recognition Night

PLEASANTVILLE,  N.Y. -- From organizing blood drives to volunteering at the Tina Gambino 5K Race and Gala, Pleasantville students are making their mark.

The village recently honored 63 students at its annual Youth Recognition Night. Honorees included 3 members of the Pleasantville Class of 2017, 58 current Pleasantville students, and 2 students who attend private schools. 

Students honored served in organizations like ECHO, Student Visions, Farmers Market/Foodchester, Community Garden at St. John's, the Presbyterian Church's Appalachia Service Project and Social Justice Program, Holy Innocent's Religious Education Program and Youth Group. 

Projects including participating in community walks, peer tutoring at Mount Pleasant Library, running games and fundraisers at Pleasantville Day for local charities and volunteering at the Pleasantville Farmers Market. 

Students also helped manage the community garden at St. John's Episcopal Chuch in Pleasantville and repairing homes for people who live below the poverty line in Kentucky.
