Pleasantville Passes School Budget, Re-Elects McGaffey

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. -- School Board Vice President Shane McGaffey was re-elected to the Pleasantville Board of Education on Tuesday.

Pleasantville voters also passed proposed $46.32 million budget that includes some staff reductions, including four teacher assistants, 10 teacher aides and one teacher. The budget stays within the tax cap and would increase the tax rate by an estimated 2.54 percent.

The budget received 750 'yes' votes and 282 'no' votes.

McGaffey received 834 votes. He will serve a three-year term.
