Summer Reading is Fun at Mt. Pleasant Library

The Mount Pleasant Library begins its summer reading program, One World, Many Stories, Monday June 6 at the main library branch in Pleasantville. Children ages 4 to 12 are invited to come and join a reading adventure where they can learn about cultures throught the globe, travel, exploration and meeting new people.

"Our summer reading program emphasizes the fun and recreational aspects of reading in the summer," said Susan Chajes, children's librarian at the Mount Pleasant Library.

The Mount Pleasant library serves students from many different school districts and therefore they have their own summer reading program or students can use their summer reading lists from school in Mt. Pleasant's "One World, Many Stories" program.

Chajes will soon be visiting six different elementary schools in Mount Pleasant to promote the library's program to increase participation.

The children's section at the Mt. Pleasant Library will be given a new look when the area is rearranged for more access for programs.
