Belvedere was elected to the school board in 2011 and re-elected for a second term in 2014. She resigned for personal reasons, the district said.
In a statement, the district said she was an integral member of Valhalla’s Advocacy Committee and Facilities Committee, and worked alongside her colleagues to better the district for all students
“I hope that the Valhalla Board of Education receives all of the support that it requires,” Belvedere said. “I hope that it continues to make the positive and significant improvements I’ve seen and have been a proud part of on behalf of our children and teachers.”
The district said any interested parties looking to fill her seat should submit a letter of interest to District Clerk Rosa Abbondola. Names must be received no later than Oct. 1.
The Valhalla Board of Education will conduct interviews in the fall and is expected to appoint the new school board member at its Nov. 29 meeting.
