The Championships took place at the Armory Indoor Track and Field Center in Manhattan on Jan. 17.

The boys team finished in first place as league champions, and the girls team finished in second place.

Valhalla High School competed against Briarcliff, Croton-Harmon, Pleasantville and Westlake high schools.

"It was a very exciting day at the Armory," said Valhalla Athletic Director Jamie Block. "The place was rocking during our relays and the Valhalla students were cheering each child's name. It was a great atmosphere."

The boys fought hard during the day and edged Pleasantville for the championship by three points.

A total of six new school records were established, including winning the 4x400-meter relay.

The girls team also battled strongly against the opposing teams. While they attempted to defend their 2014-15 league title, they finished second after Briarcliff High School.

The girls set two new school records, including their commanding victory in the 4x400-meter relay.
