Valhalla Fathers Invited To Take Your Child To School Day

VALHALLA, N.Y. -- The Valhalla School District is hoping to see fathers front and center Tuesday.

The district is hosting "Dads Take Your Child to School Day," encouraging fathers to to drop their children off at Virginia Road Elementary School and Kensico School from 8 to 8:30 a.m. The event will feature a breakfast, a short introduction and readings from the kids favorite books.

“Dads Take Your Child to School Day” is a way to get fathers more involved and to celebrate the special relationship that fathers have with their children. The district is inviting fathers, stepfathers, grandfathers, uncles, brothers, godfathers or any other significant male caregiver to accompany their children to school.

Studies overwhelmingly show that positive paternal involvement is associated with improvements in children’s academic performance, cognitive development, behavior, confidence and well-being.
