VALHALLA, N.Y. -- Valhalla's kindergarten registration week for the 2016-17 school year begins Feb. 1.
Children who will be five years old before Dec. 1, 2016 will be able to register for kindergarten. (Born between Dec. 1, 2010 and Nov. 30, 2011).
Registration times are 9-11:30 a.m. and 1-3:30 p.m. on the following assigned days:
- Last names beginning with the letters A-J: Monday, Feb. 1 and Tuesday, Feb. 2.
- Last names beginning with the letters K-Z: Wednesday, Feb. 3 and Thursday, Feb. 4.
- Make-up Day: Friday, Feb. 5
Parents should bring proof of age (i.e. birth certificate, baptismal certificate, passport or other acceptable proof) to registration.
Proof of residency is also required. Documents accepted are deeds, mortgage statements and notarized lease agreements. In addition, two pieces of mail addressed to this property (i.e. utility bill, phone bill, voter registration card, driver’s license, government ID) are required.
All pupils entering the school district for the first time (including kindergarten registrants) must have an annual physical examination. Kindergarten physical examinations shall be acceptable if it is administered not more than twelve months prior to the beginning of the school year. Physical exams and immunization records are due prior to the first day of school.
