VALHALLA, N.Y. - Valhalla residents will vote on the School District's proposed $3.6 million bond for capital improvements on Thursday, Nov. 14.

The Valhalla School Board's proposal includes plans to repair and renovate roofs, ceilings, flooring, windows and the installation of a new all-weather turf on the high school's all-sports athletic field as well as the installation of air conditioning in the Kensico School gymnasium.

Major expenditures on school properties include repaving of the Valhalla middle and high School parking lots, roof replacement at the Virginia Road School and updating of the district's security systems with new doors at the Kensico and Virginia Road schools.

The school board proposes to pay for the projects with the help state aid up to 16 percent of the cost with a bond for 84 percent of the $3.6 million. The estimated tax increase for a homeowner of a property with a market value $500,000 will be $75 a year.

For more detailed information about Valhalla’s capital plan, visit the district website or call the Superintendent’s office at 914-683-5040.

Those interested in more information and pubic discussion may attend the final information session on Tuesday, Nov. 12 at 7 p.m. in the Kensico School.

Voting will take place at North Castle Community Center, Virginia Road Elementary and Kensico School from 6-8 a.m. and 2-9 p.m.
