On Sept. 9, Valhalla's Sports Boosters Club sponsored a luncheon for the team captains of the fall sports season.

They dined at Sergio's Restaurant across from Valhalla Middle/High School.

Together, the captains and coaches talked about the meaning of their roles, as well as their responsibilities and privileges.

They also looked ahead to the season and discussed how the coaches and athletic director can help the players, and vice-versa.

"It's a nice day of rewards," said Athletic Director Jamie Block. "They're a group of student-athletes that I can rely on."

The fall sports represented at the luncheon were soccer (boys and girls), football, cross country (boys and girls), field hockey, volleyball, girls swimming and tennis.
