VALHALLA, N.Y. -- Valhalla school district residents voted to approve a proposed $3.6 million bond for capital improvements by a vote of 316-217 on Thursday.

The Valhalla school board's proposal includes plans to repair and renovate roofs and ceilings and the installation of a new all-weather turf on the high school's all-sports athletic field as well as the installation of air conditioning in the Kensico School gymnasium.

The estimated tax increase for a homeowner of a property with a market value $500,000 would be $75 a year.
