Participants were selected based on their individual New York State School Music Association (NYSSMA) solo festival ratings, All-County participation and music teacher recommendations.
The event offered Briarcliff students a chance to interact and rehearse with their counterparts from nearby districts. It culminated with a concert conducted by Croton-Harmon music teachers Sara O’Brien (orchestra) and Lisa Sable (concert band).
Briarcliff Middle School’s students and faculty have been part of the Rivertowns festival for the past seven years and hosted this year for the first time.
BMS music teachers Christopher Melito, Delia Montenegro, Anna Ostrofsky and Marc Tartell said they are proud of the musicians’ accomplishments and thrilled the students enjoyed the overall experience immensely.
