The honor society recognizes high-achieving Italian language students in advanced Level 4 classes.

Induction is based on Italian scholarship that includes maintaining a 90 average in a student’s previous three years of Italian and a cumulative average of 85 in all other subjects, participating in the mentoring and tutoring program for lower level Italian students and exhibiting cultural leadership.

The ceremony, held in the school's auditorium, included a traditional dance "La Ballarella Ciociara" performed by the current members of the Italian Honor Society.

The performance paid homage to La Ciociaria, an area south of Rome -- bringing to life the traditions and customs of the village.

Following the dance and welcoming remarks, the inductees were called up to receive their Italian Honor Society medal and certificate of membership.

New inductees are: Natalie Alfieri, Julianna Galluccio, Faith O'Briskie, Jetmir Asllani, Emily Giuseffi, Michael Pullano, Nick Barbero, Kelli Kinlen, Julianna Rush, John Bastone Ruben, Lara Olivia Schettino, Chloe Burns, Mackenzie Maher, Jenna Sputo, Caleigh Carr, Mia Malandruccolo and Carlos Vallejo

Also inducted were Kyle Dearborn, Julia Mancuso, Francis Veltri, Elena DiDomizio, Angela Mangione, Valeria Venturini, Matthew Encarnacao, Juliana Manzo, Briana Zambardi, Alexandra Falkenberg, Kelly Martin, Deanna Frustaglio and Sofia Mastandrea.
