Westlake High Seniors Gain Recognition For Excellence In Italian

MOUNT PLEASANT, N.Y. – Four seniors and three teachers of Mount Pleasant's Westlake High School were celebrated for excellence in Italian at the annual Italian Heritage and Culture celebration held Oct. 5 at the Sons of Italy Meucci Lodge in White Plains.

The Westchester Coalition of Italian American Organizations and County Executive Rob Astorino recognized students Loredana Pizzuti, Michael Sala and Alyssa Spampinato, along with teachers Adriana Aloia, Rossana Caringi and Francesca Bellomusto, with certificates of achievement.

Fellow senior Jessica Resciniti was awarded a $400 scholarship given to seven students across Westchester County, thanks to her work and a video she created for Westlake's Italian Honor Society.
