Safyre lives in Upstate New York and lost her parents and three siblings in a house fire two years ago. She sustained severe, disfiguring burns over 70 percent of her body.

This Christmas, all she asked for was for people to send Christmas cards to her so she can fill up her card tree.

Club President Emma Sheehan, who is also a member of the school’s art club, brought Safyre’s request to both clubs and organized a card-making drive.

In a single afternoon, between 40 and 50 students dropped in, designed cards and wrote personal messages to Safyre to help make her holiday a special one.
