The matter will be up to the voters in the May 16 school elections, which also include voting on the budget and school board.

The fund would help pay for a portion of costs related to construction, renovation, and equipment of school district buildings and athletic facilities.

The Capital Reserve Fund will not exceed $12 million in total and the fund will last no longer than ten years. It will not increase taxes, the district said.

Taxpayers must approve all withdrawals and expenditures from the Capital Reserve Fund. The district said they are considering using the fund to replace the high school gym bleachers, replace the cooling tower at Strang Middle School and replace the flooring at Crompond Elementary School, among other proposed projects.
